Head Ache (698) -DBR_Dodgy
I love this track. It seems to have all the attributes that my contest is looking for. It isn't overly difficult but it has many obstacles that test you. The finish line jump is a good example. It is one of the few tracks that has accomplished the landable big air jump. You can go big there if you want. If you are timid you can hit the brake and just roll it. The fast way is somewhere in between. See if you can do it the same way every lap. You will also be playing chicken as you bounce your way down the hill towards the first construction site. Just using enough brakes to make the turn and hit the hill without over jumping. Minimize the brakes through this next section but be careful to not over jump. I love the next big hill where you want to come to a crawl near the top so that you can race down it into the whoops. I've gone over the handle bars once or twice here until I figured out the best line for me. I love the sky cube which has the sun in your eyes as you climb one of the hills. This track has a nice blend of everything that I like and it's nice to look at.

Level 7 (678) -skinned
This track (like his SX contest entry) grew on me every lap that I rode it. There are several obstacles to watch for on each lap and there are many lines to use. I especially like the one section that has a pile of dirt on the side of the hill on the left that lets you launch up to the top of a big stepup. Great stuff.

Sterile Damage (651) - trevinator
I wish there was more of this track. This is one sweet track. Great for racing if you don't stop to enjoy the view. The use of the helicopter is very well done on this track. This track doesn't have any technically difficult aspects to it, but it has a lot of little skip/scuff type of jumps with the ability to contain how much air you get over a couple of jumps affecting your lap times. I love the stepups to the finish and the little drop down to the left turn after an uphill climb. So while not technically difficult, technical skills are required for a fast lap.

Out Of Line (643) - SN and POISON
Another great track with options and obstacles that provide for making little mistakes. I believe great racing tracks have plenty of things that make it easy to make small mistakes. This is one of them.
The small things kept this one off the podium. For example the outer terrain edges are left with large mismatches which cause fantails that you can see.

Rough Country 2k3 (637) - Mike Mcfadden
This contest had several natural terrain tracks and this is one of them. It has a nice blend of natural terrain with some man made jumps thrown in. You try to make this track WFO, but you keep having to use your brake to tweak your line. I love the finish line stretch which has you make a sequence of jumps turning to the left and then you have to make the left right dog leg, and then go up a hill to the tight 180 to the finish.
This track has some lighting issues where the bike shadow keeps disappearing and re-appearing and there are no ontrack shadows to match.

TD Making Tracks (634) - fixer
Tracks from here to 17th or so were very tough to compare. When I did my SX contest I had planned not give ranking for anything but the top 5. Due to popular demand I am attempting to fairly rank all the tracks.
Fixer has accomplished an amazing thing with this track. He has animated a full train, not an easy task with no tools to aid you in doing it.
The train adds something to this great track. This has some nice natural terrain and there isn't a smooth place on it. I love racing under the 1st trestle when the train is coming. You then race along the tracks and have to brake hard to make the turn under the shorter train trestle. Side hoping across the culvert is a nice touch also. Great stuff.

TD Backyards Twist (631) - mike_mccue
There is no doubt that Mike McCue's entry is a work of art. I suggest everyone when they first load this track just switch to user view and then zoom out. Get a good overall view of what is there and then zoom in on different things and just enjoy exploring. From the work area complete with drill press to the joystick in the tower there are a lot of little details on this track. The complicated paths of the cars that move around the outer area and the birds swooping near the tower. There is no doubt who won this prize.
Mike should have entered this track in my SX contest. The lack of any natural terrain aspects to the track and the relative ease of the SX style jumps made it place 7th in this contest. In any traditional MCM 2 track contest this track would be blowing the doors off the others.
This track is great to race on. It's a tight small track that you have to work to keep your speed contained. When racing you are always torn between being conservative or going for it a little. This drives you to make small mistakes and maybe become too conservative and give up your lead. It's great fun.

FenceTown GNCC (626) - VMX_O_R
I was pretty much blown away by this track. It only has a few jumps but if you love racing through natural terrain in a forest with rocks and fallen trees then this is your track. My family doesn't like the textures they think it looks like moss instead of rocks, but I'm color blind and it looks fine to me. It doesn't get in the way of me enjoying it.
It takes a few laps to get used to the terrain but it's great for racing and ghost racing.

Blind Ambition (624) - DBR_suesman
This is a top quality natural terrain track. It is at first almost WFO but when you start riding it without slipping it's time to start using the brakes a little to contain your speed. It has a nice obstacle at the very end that will make or break your lap. I love the finish line sign. The track is just very realistic without many jumps but plenty of natural terrain to have fun on.

Danger Island (623) - RMR_punkerjeffy(Jeff Gunderson)
This track is an experience. It has some great touches. I love the uphill whooped out/stepup section. It has some very fun obstacles with multple lines. It doesn't pass the putt around test on my first two laps. It has some jumps that you have to make with no alternate lines but it's other features help offset that and bring it up to 10th place.

Rd 04 Carlsbad Raceway (621) - DC
This is a great track to race on. It has nice natural terrain and it's hard to find a smooth spot. The inner berms work extremely well. The lack of any jump combinations is what held this track back in this contest. This one makes me want to hold a track contest for tracks just like this. I know I will be ghost racing this track a lot. I love the natural terrain tracks even without jumps.

RiverRoadRaceway (617) - AheadBMX_6
What gives this track some edge over some of the tracks below it is little things. This is a very nice natural terrain track. Nothing very difficult about it. No big jumps, no difficult obstacles, etc. What this track has is a very good attempt at simulating a real MX track. It has very nice uphill downhill sections. I love the first uphill with a twisting left landing into braking bumps for a tight right hand turn. Each time you go up a hill and jump over into the next downhill into a turn there is braking bumps and you probably also have to brake over them. After one last hard braking section you turn out onto the flat section of the track and you work your way into a step up onto a very slippery plateau. Jump off into a rutted section and work your way back to the start/finish line where you are met with a very hard braking section into a tight left right before starting all over again.

Bumpy Hill (604) - TWD_KAZAM
This is a big air mostly WFO track that is still reasonably fast when you get off-pace. There are a couple of nice obstacles as you jump up into the hills and back down. In the non-WFO sections you have to use your brakes skillfully to contain yourself and to blend. If you skid off past the non-moving train you may have a hard time getting back.
Another very fun track but you may pay a high price when you can't make the jumps. I love the uphill section after the start finish line. It's the section that you see on the right in the Track Pic.

Banc MX(590) - Jared
Very nice technical track. It lacks some refinement, but that actually adds to the fun of this track. It is some of those rough sections that add to the realism. The difference between 4th and 14th is not a lot of points. So grab this track and have fun racing. Get ready to pull back on the joystick as you slam over the braking bumps. Adjust to this track and get ready to fly. Small mistakes may make you unable to make some of the bigger jumps, but don't worry. Whomever you are racing will make a mistake somewhere else.

Return to Orchard Valley (578) - The Loz
This is a wonderful track (not very difficult), but fun to race on and a very fun kick up/sky shot jump that is fun to do perfectly. Some parts of the track can be confusing there is a 180 right hand turn that is overlaying a straight. It takes a few laps and watching the radar view to understand what way you are supposed to go.
I love the jumps up on the side of the hill. There is a nice stepup also. Usually the side angled stuff doesn't work well in MCM 2, but it works on this track. Sorry I couldn't rate it higher.

Boulder Hill Raceway (569) - Jesse Schmidt
This is a track that my gut tells me should rank higher in this contest. It is a very fun natural terrain track. Great for racing and ghost racing. It has some Doug Henry style back braking jumps and some floater jumps were you really need to contain your speed with some brake. Some really nice obstacles round it off.
What knocks it down is the inner berms that are difficult to see and things like it's possible to go through the finish line gate and not trigger the end of the lap.

Loamy Valley (548) - VMX_ElDiablo
This is also a pretty much WFO track with plenty of jumps that you have to make. Because of that it doesn't score as well in this contest. It is another excellent track. This track captures the feeling of big outdoor plateau kind of environment. The sky cube and track work well together. The finish line jump is quite fun and requires you to get your pilot license before you can fly your bike through the finish line jump and land without crashing.

Welcome to sweden! (536) - tk_flap
This is a very nice snow track. I did test it using the 250 bike model, because I need to compare all the tracks using a stock bike model. It's a very good looking snow track with some annoying music. Tonya wanted to shoot it more and more every lap that I made. :). I don't know if it's the playback on my system or not but it was playing too slowly. The thing that probably hurt this track the most in the standings is the steep jump faces that made it where you had to find the sweet spot when landing. It was very very easy to crash. It's very tough to find the off-pace approach over the jumps without crashing. Other than that it's a very fun track and is definitely fun to race on once you've found your way around and have the jumps dialed in.

The Far Side 2 (532) - Denny Steel
The only problem with this track is the contest that it's entered in. This is an excellent track. It is WFO but it has plenty of bumps and stuff to cause you to make mistakes. The jumps are fine when up to speed and unmakeable if you have crashed or lost your speed. The jumps are quite fun though. The section as you approach the finish line is nice as you have to jump while turning. The edge of the landing areas are nicely decorated with rocks and other nasty stuff, so you can't whimp your way over the jump. Great track it just doesn't have the alternate lines and recoverability options that this contest is looking for.
This track is a good example of a track that doesn't do well in the first laps of my testing when I putt around for two laps.

Tweak (529) - Kawaduck
This track while being rough in places and less refined in others has many excellent qualities. I really love the section where you have to heavily brake as you drop into the gully, you then climb up a steep section, and then whip (almost a hammer head stall) a 180 to make the turn and come back down. You have to use the brake in several places to contain yourself. It's very easy to take get off line a little and end up jumping into a lake or ravine. Great for racing as long as you don't spend too much time exploring those off-track areas.

CMA SERIES RND 2 BRUDERHEIM (504) - Henry Zons
I had a hard time seeing some things on this track. The inner berms were hard to make out. There area couple of excellent whoop sections that end up being a rhythm sections. There is quite a bit of object animation used. I particularly liked the balloon dipping down near the edge of the track. The helicopter was annoying and I actually got taken out by it as it flew by at warp speed. It's an easy track without many obstacles to conquer.

KIKIHILL(475) - Mxbilly88
This track has a lot of potential. Visually it's very rough. The jumps are too squared off and the dispmap is very bumpy you can actually see in the texture the square pixels of the dispmap. The track has several interesting aspects to it. He has an excellent sequence where you land on the down side of ski-jump and you really have to jump on the brakes before reaching the lip of the jump. Objects are just placed without any particular reason. Along one sequence is just random construction equipment.
Once he has refined his abilities with the dispmap/textures excellent tracks will come.

Revelations (405) - WCR_Thunder
While this track isn't a WFO track with all of the jumps falling in the right place it is a mostly WFO track. You pretty much need to keep your speed up most of the way around the lap in order to make the jumps. There are several jumps that if you can't make them there really isn't another way to go. To slow down to the speed required to not crash is extremely costly. You do need to use the brakes on this track and once you have it dialed in it is fun to race on. This is actually the 2nd track that WCR_Thunder entered. He pulled the first. I'm looking forward to seeing his next few tracks.
